The "Cube" project is an interactive sensor-based sound-installation by Khrystyna Kirik and Nick Acorn, as well as a performance platform for the Liniyï project.
In the installation format, it allows viewers to get inside and get an interactive audio-visual experience. The outer walls of the Cube consist of stretched rubber strips, which the audience can cross anywhere to enter the interior. Inside the cube are remote sensors with Arduino microcontrollers that allow viewers to play specially prepared audio files in real time inside of a 4-channel sound system located in the installation.
This project explores physicality, touch perception, body boundaries, and the audience-performer interaction in a shared space. We explore how we perceive our physical limits and our connection with the environment using visual and sonic elements.
