Sonic Climates, 2024
Sonic Climates is an installation exploring relations between plants, sound, and human presence.
Electrical signals from plants are captured by sensors and used to shape a continuously changing sound environment. As light, humidity, temperature, and proximity shift, the sound slowly changes with them.
Khrystyna Kirik and Elod Máté Janky interact with the system through live electroacoustic improvisation, responding to the plants and the evolving sound rather than controlling it.
The work focuses on attention, listening, and co-existence across human and non-human elements.
Presented at UH Fest 2024, Budapest.
