Bio:

Khrystyna Kirik is a multidisciplinary artist whose work bridges experimental music, sound art, and multimedia installations. Her practice revolves around deep listening and embodied sonic experiences, integrating performance, audiovisual elements, and self-built instruments.

Originally trained as a double bassist, Khrystyna transitioned into non-traditional instrument design, which led to the creation of Sound→box, a workshop where she explores new sonic possibilities through unique instruments and sound objects.

Her sonic world blends delicate noise, electroacoustic improvisation, and abstract narrative structures, often incorporating field recordings, synthetic textures, and tactile sound manipulations. She is the founder of the projects FREEBUTTREE, KK4TET, and the multimedia project Liniyï, where she explores various approaches to improvisation.

Her work focuses on immersive performances and sound installations, including Cube for Brave! Factory Festival, State of Latitude for ∄, A new memory from the future for Cult Motiv, Sonic Climates for UH Festival, and Sub-sur-face for Time Based.

As part of the SHAPE+ platform (2024-2025), Khrystyna has performed at festivals including Skanu Mežs (Riga), UH Fest (Budapest), and OUT.RA (Barreiro).

In her artistic practice, she seeks to amplify the imperceptible, revealing hidden resonances and subconscious states through her sonic landscapes. Whether through live performances, digital installations, or handcrafted sound objects, she creates liminal spaces that invite contemplation and a heightened awareness of sound as an extension of the body and environment.
